It’s been exactly a year since this absolutely captivating multicultural wedding of Tanya and Sunjeeva but it is still giving me all the feels.
Throughout COVID I witnessed a number of wedding trends occurring when micro weddings, secret elopements and private ceremonies replaced big gatherings and destination weddings. What really stood out and continues to do so is how couples have learnt to go with the flow and adapt to constantly changing conditions. But it’s not only the couples and vendors – the whole wedding industry had to adjust too.
The Harbour Rocks Hotel where Tanya and Sunjeeva decided to have their wedding at went above and beyond and organised a private terrace ceremony for the couple. Despite being the pioneers in the COVID wedding trends, the hotel event team made this day absolutely smooth and oh, so romantic! I loved capturing this modern intimate wedding at such a beautiful historic location.
Not only the way weddings are organised these days has changed but also the wedding gown selection has evolved. Many brides are moving away from the traditional ivory dress and are looking for more unique colours. Tanya’s lavender wedding dress was custom made by a Sydney local designer Julidressmaking in less than a week and without even a chance to try it on beforehand due to the lockdown but it was flawless and definitely made all heads turn when Tanya walked the streets. It is a very elegant high style gown in a rare colour which made it a perfect match for such a chic wedding.
It was all the little things that made that day so perfect and memorable. Only the closest family and friends attended. Their son was there too and he enjoyed the ceremony and the photoshoot no less than his parents. The weather was absolutely stunning despite the rainy forecast and we also accidently encountered a parrot that was not shy at all to take some photos with us!
Tanya and Sunjeeva are celebrating one year anniversary this week but I am sure to them it feels like their intimate wedding was just yesterday and as if no time passed at all.
